How autopilot works

The three positions every tool can be in, what changes at each, and the things that always wait for a human.

Last updated

Every tool has an autopilot toggle in its header. It is off by default and we do not push you to turn it on until you have evidence.

The three positions

Off. Every draft waits in your inbox. Nothing reaches anyone until you press Approve. This is where every tool starts.

Semi. Available on Publisher and any tool that produces both text and media. Text-only drafts publish automatically; anything with video or an image waits. Stacked suggests this after you have approved ten drafts from a tool with fewer than two edits.

Full. The tool runs and executes on its cadence. You get a daily digest email listing what went out. Everything remains reversible from the activity feed within the limits of the platform involved.

What never runs unattended

These wait for a human regardless of your settings. This is enforced in the product, not a preference:

  • Anything flagged by content safety.
  • Anything the model rates below 0.7 confidence.
  • Anything involving money: a refund, a discount, a price change, an offer, a proposal.
  • Public criticism and any reply to it.
  • A message to someone the sentiment classifier reads as angry.
  • Any destructive platform action that cannot be reversed, such as a ban.

Undo

Every action that touched an external platform can be reversed from the activity feed, within that platform's own limits. A published post can be deleted, an email cannot be unsent but is logged with its full content, a Discord role can be re-granted, a timeout can be lifted. The activity feed shows what was reversible and for how long.

A reasonable progression

  1. Week one. Everything off. Read every draft. Edit freely — the edits are what teach the voice model.
  2. Week two or three. Turn on autopilot for the time-critical tools first: Go-Live Blaster, Weekly Digest, Changelog Agent. These are the ones where a late approval is the same as no approval.
  3. Week four onwards. Accept the semi suggestion on Publisher when it appears. Leave everything client-facing and money-adjacent on manual indefinitely. Plenty of people never go beyond this, and that is a perfectly good place to stop.
